Was recommended while I was in town visiting as I like to find local donut shops. This place did not disappoint. They have a wide variety to choose from and the gentleman behind the counter was very very nice to me and my daughter. I would definitely go back to this place. Check it out if you are in the area you won't regret it.

I grew up in Bloomington, and Sunrise has always been a staple doughnut shop for me! I've stopped in for a single donut and or have bought 5+ dozen at a time for a big event - regardless of my circumstances Sunrise Doughnuts are always fresh and so yummy. Sunrise is a small family owned shop who make their own doughnuts fresh every day. Their variety is huge in terms of shape, flavor, and filling. My personal favorite is their cherry frosting donut! Definitely a place you should stop by when in the area. I will continue to go out of my way to come here for doughnuts!
A nice quiet and clean donut shop tucked in a corner of a small strip mall in Bloomington. Found this place by accident when going to Chan Oriental Market for Asian groceries. Prices are reasonable and friendly service. Although, the donuts have a strong oil smell and taste. This is the only place I could find that has real peanuts on maple glazed donuts which are my husband's most favorite kind.
I can't believe I've never reviews this place! Maybe bc they run out of donuts sometimes. I've bought the last half dozen more than once. So I guess maybe I should take away a star bc you cannot count on getting a donut here. But when you do come early...the staff is so nice. The yellow walls are cheerful. The donuts are AMAZING.
I love finding new donut shops to check out. This one's been on my list for a while! So glad I went to check it out! They have a good variety of flavors and styles. Cake, raised, jelly filled, cream filled, you name it. I went at 630am and there were plenty of options...however they do close early if they sell out! I ordered the Bavarian cream filled, the maple glazed long John, and a white frosted cake donut (can't go wrong there!). All were so good. They had blueberry glazed, coconut shaved topping, strawberry filled, Apple fritters, so many options that I NEED to go back and try!
